F23 (W10): First Frost!
A few weeks earlier than the average date of first frost for Athens, but not totally out of the blue. We had a busy time getting the farm ready for the freeze!

F23 (W9): Prepping for First Frost
As all of you seasoned gardeners know, first frost marks a turning point for plants.

F23 (W8): Autumn Rolls On
This is such a rewarding time of year— all the hard work prepping fields and planting in the late summer heat is coming to fruition.

F23 (W7): How ‘Bout That Rain!!!
After four or so weeks without drop, last week’s overcast and rainy days were so welcome.

F23 (W6): Fall Mindset
Digging sweet potatoes, fixing broken hoop houses to prepare for cold weather, filling sandbags and organizing row cover has got us in the fall mindset.
F23 (W5): It’s Dry Out Here!
Has anyone else noticed that we haven’t had a good rain in a while? We’re certainly feeling it on the farm.

F23 (W4): More September Magic
50’s in the morning and brilliant sunshine in the afternoon, the subtle shift in the afternoon light, the magic of being able to eat freshly picked okra, cherry tomatoes, daikon radish and kale in the same meal?! And don’t even get me started on the flowers right now!

F24 (W3): Best of both Seasons
Fall and summer crops are overlapping like crazy! September in Georgia is a magical month!!

F23 (W2): Cool Temps & Happy Plants
If you haven’t been up before 8am recently you may not know this but fall really is coming! Last week’s cool temps and rain made for some happy plants.

F23 (W1): Fall CSA is Here!
We’re so excited to start the third session of our CSA off. This is a truly magical time of year for veggies: you’ll be seeing late plantings of summer favorites, alongside the return of greens, sweet potatoes, and other root crops.

Fall CSA Incoming!
Although we’ve been a short break from CSA, we’ve been cranking out some amazing fruits and veggies at the farm- and we can’t wait to share them with you again next week. There is still time to sign up for our Fall CSA!

CSA Break: See You Soon!
We’ve made it to the end of the summer CSA season, and into our little late-summer break! We’re going to miss you terribly this week and next as we shift gears and get ready for the fall season to start the first week of September.

SM23 (W12): Gettin’ Figgy with it
Our figs ripened just in time to make it into the last week of Summer CSA!

SM23 (W11): Summer Bounty
We’re excited to keep sharing the summer bounty with you, even as our fields and mindsets start to shift towards fall.

SM23 (W10): Staying Busy
Last week, fall seeding started in earnest! We’re starting our kale, collards, radishes, lettuces and more summer-into-fall favs. Field work is kicking up again too, with beds being prepared and seeded with some late summer and early fall things. Needless to say, we’re staying nice and busy.

SM23 (W9): Going Strong, even with the heat
The tomatoes are still going strong, even with the heat! We’re still going strong too, and finding ways to stay cool under the hot Georgia sun.

SM23 (W8): Georgia in July, It Ain’t for the Faint of Heart
The unrelenting heat, the bug pressure, the weeds! Growing in Georgia in July ain’t for the faint of heart, folks.

SM23 (W7): What a week…
We’ve had an eventful week! One malfunctioning walk-in cooler, one broken spigot, and one snake-y surprise - we’re feeling grateful for afternoon storms, popsicles, and our incredibly hardworking team right about now.

SM23 (W6): Things are Heating Up
With last week’s hot and dry weather, we’ve been busy getting fields ready for late summer and early fall plantings, keeping at it with bulk harvests, trellising tomatoes, battling the weeds… the list goes on! We’re staying as hydrated as we can, and we hope you are too!

SM23 (W5): Officially in Tomato Season
The near-constant rain last week has thrown a wrench in a lot of our plans, but there is some good news to report: we are officially in tomato season.
