Happy (Almost) New Year!
Dear Farm Community -
Happy almost New Year! Last week was short and sweet for us as we took a little time off for Christmas. When we arrived on the farm Friday to harvest for our weekend market, we were delighted to see our anemones and ranunculus greeting the warm weather with some early blooms! Despite the unseasonably (and some might say concerningly) warm temperatures over the last few days, it was still a treat to go about our harvests in short sleeves. These early spring blooms were an unexpected joy, giving us a little taste of what’s to come and keeping us excited for the season ahead.
The BIG NEWS news this week…. NEXT WEEK BEGINS OUR 2026 CSA!
Which means… our CSA Pay-by-Week option is now on sale! This flexible option is perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy our incredible produce without committing to the full season upfront. It’s a predictable, affordable, week-by-week way to support the farm while bringing fresh, seasonal vegetables (and eggs! and flowers!) to your table.
If you’re ready to jump in and start your year right, head to our website to sign up. All subscriptions initiated this week will be ready for our CSA Week 1 pickups NEXT WEEK!
Winter CSA runs January 6 – February 26 (8 weeks) with two convenient pickup locations:
Tuesdays at Athens Montessori (4–6 PM)
Thursdays at Athentic Brewing Company (4–6 PM)
Wednesday home delivery is also available!
Our winter shares will be packed with hearty root vegetables like beets, carrots, and radishes, plus generous amounts of brassicas and greens including kale, collards, broccoli, cauliflower, chard, lettuce, little gems, radicchio, and more. Each week we’ll share recipes in the newsletter to help you make the most of your share, and you can always visit our recipes page for extra inspiration.
CSA is an awesome way to start the year, especially if your New Year’s intentions include treating your body well, connecting with your community, and doing right by the environment. We can’t wait to grow alongside you in 2026 and help nourish the incredible things you have planned.
Those of y’all who enjoyed our silly promo video last week will be excited to hear that the blooper reel is on our instagram…. aka “Our CSA Promo Video if we used Everybody’s First Take.” We hope you’ll take a peek and laugh at our expense
Beyond our excitement for the new CSA year and laughing over our own absurdity, we’re feeling all the hope, renewal, and inspiration that a fresh year brings. Our 2026 field planning meetings are complete as of last week, and the “master plan,” so to speak, is finalized. It’s thrilling to already be in a wonderful groove and still see plenty of new ways to improve.
planning is exhausting work ~ make sure to hydrate!
If you’re curious about what goes on behind the scenes (see above), here’s a peek: dozens of handwritten papers, weird lists, bizarre charts, homemade pound cake, circles and arrows of some kind… (words overheard at the meeting: “this is how everybody does it, right?”) Well, it works for us! We can’t wait for all the harvests ahead.
Thanks for a wonderful year, and cheers to a new one
